Mental Health Scholars Academy (MHSA) scholar, Maritza Rivera, graduates from Alliant International University with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy.
MHSA Scholar, Maritza Rivera, is a Southern California employee who has earned her master’s degree while working as a behavioral health service representative in the Kaiser Permanente Orange County Medical Center.
Maritza entered the MHSA as an “advance placement” scholar in the inaugural Fall 2020 cohort, participating in the Master of Arts in marriage & family therapy program at the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University. She completed her final requirements and earned her master’s degree in August 2021.
On September 21, 2021, Martiza was recognized for her achievement. Dr. Dan Gizzo presented Maritza with a certificate of recognition at a small ceremony attended by her department director, Dr. Miguel Oportot, as well as her manager and supervisors. Maritza completed her degree and practicum while working as a service representative at the SCPMG Department of Psychiatry Harbor clinic in Orange County.
Since graduation, Maritza has registered for her associate status with the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and is looking forward to earning her supervised hours for licensure as a marriage and family therapist.
