Community Grants
The Kaiser Permanente Mental Health Scholars Academy provides grants to accelerate the growth and diversity of the mental health workforce.
MHSA Community Fund
The Kaiser Permanente Mental Health Scholars Academy provides grants to nonprofit organizations through the Kaiser Permanente Northern California Fund for Health Education at the East Bay Community Foundation. The fund’s focus is to expand the pipeline of mental health professionals with an emphasis on meeting the diversity and unique language needs of California’s communities.
At this time, the MHSA Community Fund is accepting grant applications by invitation only.
Our Impact
Our first community grant funded research and a report from the Healthforce Center at UCSF examining opportunities for expanding the pipeline of behavioral health paraprofessionals, including community mental health workers, peer providers, and social and human services assistants. These roles do not require a bachelor’s degree or licensure, and they could help meet the growing need for behavioral health services in California.
